Christmas Baskets 2013

November 1, 2013

It’s that time of year!  Your Christmas Basket team is getting geared up for another great year of helping families have a wonderful Christmas.  We want to  give you all an early start to begin thinking about the families and food items needed to fill the Christmas Baskets.  This is a great opportunity for families, friends and small groups within Trinity to work together to spread some holiday cheer.

We will again provide a Christmas meal and gifts. After last year we realized we could have helped more.  This year we will sponsor 45 families (30 families and 15 Senior/Disabled Adults)….5 more families!

We want to simplify the Christmas Meal menu so that it’s closer to what VOA suggests.  In doing this we may add a few items, but we will definitely keep the cookies!  The sugar free and gluten free cookies were much appreciated by the seniors.

There are a couple different options on how you can participate.  You can shop and purchase a meal from a food list, or give a determined amount of money and we’ll purchase the items for a meal.  More details will be forthcoming in the November Pew News and during church services.  The family names and gift wishes will be available Sunday, November 25th.

We will be packing and distributing the Christmas Meal and Gifts on Saturday, December 14th.  Please note this on your calendars!  On that day we’ll also be filling jars with dry ingredients such as soups or cookies that the families can make at home.  Some things that worked really well last year were the family photo and the ‘free’ Christmas decoration table.  If you have any items you wish to donate for the Christmas decoration table please drop them off at the office beginning Monday, November 11th.

If we come up with other ideas we will share them as the time gets closer…as always it will be fun!  If you have any questions please contact either Jennie Fenrich (425-501-2435) or
Susan Grazier (206-200-2316).
