Christmas Baskets

Christmas Baskets

It’s that time of year!  Your planning committee wants to give you an early start to think about the families and food items needed to fill up their Christmas Baskets this year.  This is a great opportunity for families, friends and small groups within Trinity to work together to spread some holiday cheer.

We are going to take the same approach with our baskets as last year.  We will provide a Christmas Meal and Gifts.  This year we want to provide Holiday Cheer to more families.  We want to support 50 families…yes 50!   That’s our goal.

We ‘believe’ we will be able to get funds from the Thrivent program this year.  That’s our hope.    We want to use the similar Christmas Meal menu as last year.  We may add just a few items, not sure yet.  We will provide you with different options, for example, a food list, a set price for a meal, etc.  More details will be forthcoming in the November Pew News and during church services.  The family names will be available Sunday, November 27th.

We will be packing and distributing the Christmas Meal and Gifts on Saturday, December 17th.  Please note this on your calendars!  Also this year we will fill jars with dry ingredients, such as, soups or cookies the families can make.  There will be one jar for each of the Christmas families.  Some things that worked really well last year were the family photo and the ‘free’ Christmas decoration table.  If you have any items you wish to donate for the Christmas decoration table please drop them off at the office.  If we are come up with other ideas we will share them as the time gets closer…as always it will be fun!
