Clara Griffin, Associate in Ministry, to Retire

Our Associate in Ministry, Clara Griffin has decided to retire from full-time work here at Trinity Lutheran Church effective at the end of June 2010.  The Church Council has been in conversation with her for several months in order to plan for our future together.  Clara has been our strength and comfort for over 18 years here at Trinity Lutheran Church and she will be sorely missed.   Clara has served in multiple roles while here including visitation, education, worship planning and leading, director of choir and bell choir, finance, administration, building use and has filled in as secretary at times.  She has seen us through two call processes and has ably assisted three pastors and two interim pastors.

We are happy to announce that while retiring from her administrative duties, Clara has agreed to continue as our Director of Music, conducting both bells and choir, for at least one more year.  In addition, we will contract with Clara, as a retired Associate in Ministry to assist with our visitation ministry for one day a week.

The Council formed a committee, including Gary Pederson (Chair), Susan Grazier, Del Thompson, Terry Ostergaard, Peggy Ostergaard, Patti Joehnck and Pastor Jocelyn. They are seeking to hire a part-time Church Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations at Trinity.  Advertisements have been placed in hopes of finding a candidate by June.

We will celebrate Clara’s many years of service to the Church, on Sunday June 27 at 5:00 pm.  Please plan now to attend.  We rejoice that Clara will still be in our midst as our friend and we join in wishing her a very happy retirement.

Trusting in God to lead us,

Peggy Ostergaard, Church Council President & Pastor Jocelyn Carson
