Food & Craft Festival

A Success!

The 2009 Food and Craft Festival Was a Huge Success!!

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many giving members of Trinity and their families, friends and acquaintances, the annual Festival was a remarkable success.  The crafters spent all year planning and making their handicrafts.  Vintage goods were collected and priced.  The food committees prepared lunch, dinner and coffee cake to serve.  Flyers were distributed, a banner ordered and hung on the side of the church. Tables and chairs were moved into place and then put away after the event.  Lefse was rolled and packaged, baked goods, jams and pies were donated.  The bounty was amazing.  Many volunteers worked to serve the attendees.  What a wonderful group of servants you all are!  A high point of interest this year was the Victorian Doll House originally built years ago by Roz Fry who also collected the exquisite miniature furniture to furnish it.  Duane and Pam Gleave lovingly put the finishing touches on it.  The lucky winner was Steve Elwood who made his granddaughter Audrey very happy.

There are many thanks to be given.  Special appreciation is due Dorthey Thompson and her “girls” whose expertise and attention to detail make the event extraordinary.  Virginia Rudge sets the standard for hard work and generosity.  John Griffin’s ability to “herd cats” readied the rooms with tables and chairs.  Don Beck created and built four new, tall sandwich boards to help advertise on selected street corners.  Duane and Pam Gleave led us in two days of lefse making.  Diane Davis and Susan Grazier counted all the money for deposit.  To each and every one of you who shared your gifts and talents, I thank you.

The incredible proceeds are as follows: Total Receipts      **** $6,663.53 ****  including approximately $1500 which came from the doll house raffle.  The interior of the sanctuary has already been painted from the proceeds along with an anonymous donation and the entry area will be painted next.

WELCA will meet December 6th after the second service in the Koinonia Room.  We will be selecting the benevolences to support, and what further projects at the church to address.  Please plan to attend.
