From the Council President

February 4, 2015

At the January Council meeting, we talked of this new year we have plunged into. We are striving to keep a close watch on our financial state. At the same time we see that there are many substantial needs as far as our building upkeep goes. We will be working on prioritizing what projects need our most immediate attention and finding ways to pay for those. We will continue to keep the congregatin updated.

On January 25th we had our Annual Meeting with 37 voting members present for a great potluck, and fellowship. Council vice-president Gary Pederson opened the meeting at 11:45 and Pastor Diana led us in devotions. Four people were voted to Council with a unanimous vote: Lois Fisher, Mary Nielsen and Rusty Fenrich, all back for a 2nd term, and Lee Hatle-Wyman. Pastor Diana reminded us of the ambiguity, fulfillment, change and the new beginnings of the previous year, she also reiterated that she is not available to us for permanent call. The 2015 budget was passed after discussion on upping our benevolence to the Synod. It was decided that we will look at the possibility of upping our Synod benevolence on the 2016 budget. 2015 Synod Assembly delegates are: Dave Ostergaard, Susan Grazier, and Sagen Mazick, with Jerry and Norma Bingham as our alternates. Our Sno-Isle Rep. will once again be Dave Ostergaard. At this time, we are still in need of a representative for Bethany of the Northwest. If you're interested in this, please let the church office know. Distribution of the Wallace Fund was discussed and passed based on the Finance Committee's recommendations. The meeting adjourned at 1:15 pm.
