Praise Worship Musician

Music Responsibilities:

In consultation with the Pastor and Youth Director, select contemporary praise and worship music for Sunday morning services.

Teach and lead the selected music during worship services, twice a month.

Provide instrumental accompaniment.

Work cooperatively with our current keyboardist.

Provide music sheets for bulletin inserts to office staff, prior to services.

Provide copyright/licensing information to office staff.

Attend Worship Committee meetings once each month.

Sunday School/Youth Responsibilities:

Teach new songs to Sunday School students, during class time, following worship service.

Accompany children’s choir during worship, once per quarter.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated vocal and instrumental skills.

Ability to work well with children and youth.

Ability to relate to all generations in congregation.

Good organization and communication skills.

Expectations:

A strong commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Open and accepting attitude toward all persons.

Enthusiasm for the position.

Terms of Employment:

Sunday mornings, plus mid-week practice and preparation time, two weeks per month, September through May, with the option of adding the summer months.

The position will begin September, 2011.

Compensation:

$300/month, depending on qualifications.

Supervision:

The Worship Musician shall be accountable to the Church Council and the supervision of the Pastor and the Youth Director.
